Storm's claustrophobia Empty Storm's claustrophobia

In the animated series from the 90s, whenever Storm had a panic attack, her powers would flare out of control, endangering everyone in the vicinity. I remember she generated a tornado in the Danger Room when the walls began to close in on her.

Is it the same in the comics, or do her powers shut down?

Much worse in the comics. One time she generated a storm the size of a continent due to her claustrophobic attack. Not only that, but she evolved and became much more powerful.

Rogue Storm! I read about that a bit. Too sweet for words.

I was asking because I read a brief description of Storm shutting down in a Black Tom's castle, though I guess she regained her senses and owned him after a bit.

Either way, our Wind Rider is a force to be reckoned with.

I think it was retconned, as it wasn't established yet that her emotions were attuned to her power. Rogue Storm came a little later. But more times then none, her powers react very violently towards her emotions just like in TAS. I think a more recent example would be uncanny x-men 489, when the morlockes tricked her and caused a cave in. Storm instantly generated a massive lightning storm, that nearly damaged the jet.

Sweet! That's what I want to see. A panicky Storm is a dangerous Storm.

It was actually Uncanny X-men 490, when she did this.
